Had this at the 2/26/23 tasting. Dark brown, with a light brown head. Big, malty, and boozy. Lots of chocolate, roast, and sweet malts too. Tasty stuff. 8/4/8/4/17
Real bitter, chocolate, burnt coffee. Not my thing.

Canned 11/15/23, drunk 12/13/23. Giant, light tan head, creamy, well-retained. Black body, undetermined clarity. Licorice, dark chocolate but a creamy oat softness underneath that helps balance. Lightly fruity, not too roasty. Some light vanilla and nuttiness on the finish. Not too much dark fruit, either. No booze. Coffee, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums, prunes, hazelnuts. Bitter licorice and almond extract lingering, yet the oats soften the deal again. This is a really well-done imperial stout. No excess sweetness, no booze, yet tons of texture and body for balance. The oats work wonders here.

Tap @ CBC. Pours pitch black with a medium offwhite head. Aromas of red berries, tart notes, coffee, vanilla, dark chocolate, malt. Taste is alike the aroma.
