12 oz. can purchased at Total Wine in Denton, TX. Pours a clear orange-amber color with a tight beige head and very good retention. good lacing. Caramel malts aroma. Toasted caramel malt-forward flavor with a crisp bitter finish. A good blend of sweet and bitter.

Rachel brought this one back from a trip to San Antonio. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-caramel color with a large foamy orange-tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweet, bitter and had mild fruity hops. The flavor was bitter and astringent with light notes of caramel and fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Shaker pint draft at City Tavern in Dallas, Texas. The pour is clear copper brown with a smallish light tan head. The aroma is toffee, malt, a bit of grass bitterness. The taste is the toffee malt, though expresses itself weirdly, and a bit artificially. The grass bitterness adds some herbal notes, carries the finish and combines with the sweetness and lingers. The palate is medium bodied, lower carbonation level and the bittersweet herbal finish. There were components of this beer that I enjoyed, though overall didn’t completely do it for me. I’m not sure it was in the best condition.

Sample at Meddlesome Moth. Hazy copper color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of doughy malt, caramel and mild fruity hops. The finish is malty up front with a mild hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tap at the brewery - lightly hazy straw - flavors of light toast, moderate mineral bite, some diacetyl, lightly earthy malt and a mushroomy British ale yeast mustiness - authentic malt profile, and the mineral quality increases the authenticity - the buttery diacetyl is a bit too strong, and the actual hop bitterness seems more in line with an APA, but this is somewhere between meh and okay.

On tap at BTBF and several more times at the brewery. Pours with a clear golden orange hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas are malty, bready, biscuity and toasty. Medium-light esters, a hint of hops, and a very light dose of diacetyl. Flavors are pretty awesome and full for a sessionable beer like this. Great toasty malt, low esters, very bready. Medium carbonation, off dry, toasty and very drinkable.
