Bruin met ABV 8.5%. Donker roodbruin bier met schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van karamel, rode bessen en wat chocolade.

As Dikke Jan Winterbier Oak Aged. Gusher. Cloudy brown colour with thin head. Aroma is woody. Flavour has initial woody dry notes and a little red wine astringency. Flavour is otherwise quite flat though. Some oxidisation.

Thanks for sharing tderoeck! Sampled bottled @ Bierfestival Brugge 2019. Aged in 3rd use barrels which held previously wine. Dark brown amber, tanned. Nose is unpleasant cloying BE dark fruit syrup, Christmas spices, milky sweet mess. Taste is butter bit, glue, sugar, syrup, candy, sweet grainy, zero wine, glue, paint, varnish, mess, glue, varnish,… Yeah, totally messy glue, paint, sugar,… Not great.

2/II/19 - 37.5cl bottle @ Brugs Bierfestival, BB: n/a - (2019-149) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing todays' beers!
Clear dark brown beer, creamy dense beige head, little stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: ripe banana, some vanilla, brown sugar, yeast, more overripe banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bah, that's not a very pleasant beer, tastes like dead yeast, unpleasant bitterness, some cooked vegetables, soft roast. Aftertaste: unpleasant, dry, yeasty, some banana, tannins maybe?
