This traditional Oktoberfest beer is brewed to be enjoyed thoughout the fall. This malty lager features noble hop bitterness and aroma, Munich malt contributes a biscuity character and sweetness that is balanced by an alcohol warmth and a dry finish. Phost!

Draft - Bready malts with a bit of caramel. Light clear amber with a thin white head. Caramel, spice and a bit of bread. Spice is nice and the bread is in check.

On tap at Bear Republic, pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma and flavour are pretty restrained, with toasted malt, caramel, and German yeast. Pretty basic lager, but brewed well. Boring, but decent.

Smells malty and pours with good head and lacing. Cloudy orange colour. Taste has lots of malt and that sneaky noble hops aroma that gets in there. A little caramelized malt in taste. On tap at coles.

Amber coloured. Has a very perfumed aroma which is difficult to place. Overall quite smooth with a lasting malty finish.

Growler from Big Z pours a transparent copper orange with a creamy white head. Nose is mild, malty, sweet fall fruit, a little metallic, some mild citrus. Flavor is also mild, sweet, apples, a little yeast, some lemon, a little orange zest. Finish is dry. Simple, crisp and drinkable.

Nice full malt aroma. Caramel. Clear deep orange with sustained, but small, head. Full chewy mouthfeel. Nice, but could be more interesting. Bitter spike on back palate lingers a little too long and makes it a little disjointed.

On tap. Pours with a lightly hazed orange body with a lasting off-white head that leaves good lace. Aromas are grainy, lightly citrus (lemon), lightly herbal hops. No real melanoidin character. A bit hop driven, light bready notes from the malt. Flavors are malty, a bit of caramel and sticky malt notes. I wish it was a bit more vibrant, lively and crisp in character (water chemistry changes maybe?), Medium to lively bubbles, oddly heavy/fuller mouthfeel.

Location: Tap at RFDs Late Nov or Early Dec ’08
Overall Impression: Solid Octoberfest style beer, not necessarily a style with lots of range but this one gets the job done.
