Just like the name implies, brewing a batch of pFriem Double IPA takes twice the regular amount of malt and hops. That means each pint is brimming with doubly-rich aromas of fresh berries, notes of papaya and a malty sweetness. Just make sure to raise your glasses twice because a beer like this deserves a double cheers!

16oz can from Homebrewstuff. Clear golden pour, white foamy head. Malty, caramel aroma, woody, light pine. Taste brings a nice malty backbone, then adds a layer of sticky hops, not too much in the flavor, but more in the feel. My first impression made me think strong lager or imperial Pils. Not overly, strong, gentle bitterness. Not your ordinary DIPA. Take some time to sink into this one.

Bottle at RateBeer Best. Pours a hazy orange with medium off white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is tropical fruit, pine, resin. Medium body, grapefruit, dank, earth, resin finish, very good.

Golden-amber, aroma is a bit grapefruit, sticky crystal, like apple and woody hop. Earthy, bit of sticky malt, and a touch if grapefruit. Moderate bitterness but no alcohol note.

Bottle poured for game 5 of the season. Bats aren’t clutch the last two days but that’s okay. Pours a cloudy golden copper color with no shortage of foam head. Nice tropical fruit aroma that is more juicy than anything else. Flavor is fruity up front, with a sudden reminder of the 9% tag. Booze shows up, but finishes with a juicy fruit linger that keeps you drinking this. All things considered, I love the fruit profile here, and the beer is great. Awesome IIPA.

Clear orange with a white head. Very sweet, light tropical fruit, smooth and clean hops with very lightly toasted malt. Very enjoyable.

Another great beer from pFriem. Pours a clear golden copper color with a medium sticky white head. A big resinous fruity nose. A lot like the IPA which is a great beer: resinous orange hops, lots of late boil, some sweet oily perfume, a bit of bitterness in the finish. Clean. Flavorful. Could drink a liter of this. Very nice. I think I prefer the IPA but this is excellent. The late boil flavors are awesome.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 10oz
Hazy dark blond color, small head. Huge hopping, providing a nice fruity aroma, a lot of orangey oils, hop resins, citrus fruit flavor; lean mouthfeel, the choice of using light malts is always good, but it’s a bit oily and chewy; moderate sweetness, slightly excessive bitterness.
A bit hard to drink, maybe not the best one, but surely an excellent hop soup.
