Brewed with malt grown and malted by our friend and artisan maltster, Mike Doehnel. A complex fermentation profile with notes of bubblegum and dry, with a delicate caramel note derived from Belgian dark candi sugar.

Bottle from Todd’s cellar, thanks mate! Cloudy brown, low tan lace. Candisugar and spice nose. Medium-lightbody, dried out a bit it seems, light sparkly mouthfeel. Berries, sugar, wood, a bit oxidized, nice lightfooted hop profile to round it off. Quite lightfooted and drinkable actually. Pleasant.

Bottle from 16th Street Liquor, West Vancouver, bottled 03.25.13, too old
Hazy brown color with medium sized head. Light malt aroma. Lean body, lightly sweet caramel flavor and very low bitterness.
Rather boring.

Bottle - Malt, brown sugar, raisins and a bit of yeast. Bubbly brown head with a clear dark mahogany hue. Toasted malts, prunes, some yeast and a clean dry finish. Very simple and light, not bad.

Poured from the tap. Clear reddish brown with full beige head. Malt and belgian yeast aroma with just hints of dark fruit. Taste of sweet toffee, only hints of a traditional dubble. Very simple body.

650mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of clove, Belgian spices, a little banana and a touch of candied sugar. Flavour brings out light spices, clove, a bit of Belgian yeast, a touch of dark fruit, and some candied sugar. Quite spicy and dry, with a finish of candied sugar and dark fruits. Solid stuff, but nothing special.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear mahogany with medium head. Aromas of burnt sugar and phenol. Mild dark caramel and malty flavors. Not much else other than a good dose of carbonation. Not up to Driftwood standards.
