Sour Season is Open: This Gose is brewed with cantaloupe and black lava sea salt for a resfreshing mix of savory and tart while an addition of oak-smoked wheat to the grain bill adds hints of smoke to the finish for a sophisticated, yet highly refreshing brew. The choice of orange and black ingredients is no coincidence, where we come from, these are the colors of summer! Step up to plate and swig away!

Crisp and clear coloured golden body with a touch of orange in the mix (which it has to be, given it's for the Orioles) along with a super thin, and fast-dying pale white head. Aroma of brine, light lemon and a touch of raspberries with a light wheat note, but I don't notice any melons at all - at least in the nose. Light to barely Medium-bodied; Strong briney flavour of salt and light spices with a dash of coriander seed, lemons and pale wheat with a dash of soured and tart fruit, along with some puckering and acidic notes with kiwi and pineapple (very high pH concentrates) that ends with some mellow sweetness and a dose of the yeast. Aftertaste shows some mellow wheat, yeast and alcohol, but the tart and briney notes overshadow everything, in a pretty nice and approachable way. Overall, a very nice and well-structured gose that shows great, despite the horrible Orioles [2019] season, this is nice and doesn't taste 'flavoured' to me at all. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Towson, Maryland on 27-May-2019 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 01-September-2019.

Dark yellow color with faint melon aroma. Taste is like a chewy sweet tart. Sour with melon or cantaloupe sweetness, but finishes sour. Okay for a flavored gose.
