Brasserie de Silly in Silly, Hainaut, Belgium 🇧🇪

  Sour / Wild Beer Regular
Score
7.20
ABV: 5.5% IBU: - Ticks: 25
Brasserie de Silly has taken their signature Silly Sour and taken it to a whole new level. Completely unblended Sour ale, this beer lacks the 13-15% saison normally blended into Silly Sour. The result is a deep garnet colored beer with aromas of tart cherries and raspberries. The intial taste is puckeringly sour with a soft sweet undertone and a thick lactic acid heavy mouthfeel. While the finish is not cloying, it lingers more than its original version. 5.5% ABV

Draft at PreFunk. What a classic Belgian sour! Dark amber with silky head. Sour, malty aroma, yeast. Taste is more of the malty sourness, gets you licking your gums. Surprised at the low ratings, this is classic.

Sample at Yard House Denver. The beer is a ruddy brown color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Tart fruit, yeast and malt in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of tart berry, yeast and bready malt. The finish is moderately tart with a raspberry and cherry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Touch of red to the brown colour. Bubbly head. Deep woody, acetic nose, rich cherry fruits, tart, complex with a puckering woody finish and the figgy rich fruits rolling through. Excellent, so clean and refined .

750 c&c from Corti Bros. Pours ruddy and translucent with a beige head. Aroma is a rather clean red berry sour. Med body. Flavor is red berry sour. Indeed it is a mix of cherries and raspberries. It’s quite tasty, and the sour did start strong and then moderate. The sour is definitely not Brett or Pedio, so that leaves lactic I guess. This is really delicious stuff.

Bottle shared by Kelly and Paul, thanks for the opportunity! Deep amber color bordering on copper with a decent sized bubbly off white head. Tart lemony light cherry with bits of earthy tart and light balsamic. Pretty tasty beer.
