Chocolate & Coffee IPA
It’s not unusual to see pronouncements of “I Heart Hops,” “I Heart Chocolate” or “I Heart Coffee” throughout #socialmedia, printed on T-shirts and, natch, emblazoned on coffee cups. Over the past couple of decades we have helped add “I Freaking Heart IPAs” to that lexicon. Today, passionate people can’t imagine a world without all of the above. For this special edition, we added chocolate and coffee to make this devastatingly fresh IPA even more seductive to the palate. We humbly suggest that you use this libation to proclaim your love for someone... and we suggest that someone be you. Loving yourself is exactly what this libation is all about. Love now; remember forever.
The best of both worlds! A hoppy beer that also has nice coffee and chocolate components. These aroma and flavors blend together nicely to create something unique in the Stone Enjoy By IPA series. Still a hop-lovers dream with the added bonus of a cup of coffee and a bite of chocolate. Perfect to share with someone special leading up to or on Valentine’s Day—or enjoy it for yourself!

Bomber from Cap Tap. Pours translucent orange gold with a near-white head. Aroma of fruity and citrus hop. C & C? Not sure. Med ++ body. Flavor starts normal IPA, but then a little chocolate followed by a lot of coffee. Seems well towards dry. Bitter - could be coffee bitter. There is some fruit/citrus hop after the coffee wears off the quaff. Finish is mild coffee, moderate fruit, and bitter, bitter, bitter. Malt? Hmm?

Rich, super hazy copper coloured body with a rich orange glow and a thick, three centimetre tall tan head that dies down fairly quickly. Aroma of resinous hops, alcohol, pine, medicine, astringent funk and a bit of chocolate - no real coffee at all to speak of. Medium to Full-bodied; Rich, syrupy sweet flavour at first with resin and pine that shows a touch of malt, a lot of alcohol, some subdued grain and bitterness, but also the faintest bit of chocolate, but only the roasted notes and absolutely no coffee at all. Aftertaste shows the alcohol, pungent grain, astringent notes, some bitterness from hops and very little else, no real depth. Overall, a decent beer at best, and yet another Imperial IPA from Stone at worst, spending money when other options are available. Definitely not worth trying to find or hoping they ever brew this again. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 21-March-2017 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 06-April-2017.

Light coffee but doesnt eliminate hops actually. Light chocolate. More drinkable than other coffee IPAs I’ve had, and this is past expiry date like stank milk. Pours amber with ok head and lacing.

12oz bottle pours with a clear deep gold body that has copper hues and supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting rich earthy coffee notes, a mild level of chocolate, more coffee deeper into the pull but rather a bit more roasty and then subtle citrus toward the end of the draw. The taste delivers smooth earthy dark roasted coffee, a dash of highly roasted beans, earthy chocolate and then a wedge of boozy tangerine, mango and grapefruit. This is an interesting combination and it seems to be working. The coffee and modest level of chocolate go great together and the citrusy bite that has a faint juiciness to it rounds the experience off nicely.
