Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a darkish brown color with an orange hue and a medium sized foamy orange-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was bitterish with notes of fruity hops, toffee, bread crust and crystal malt. The flavor was bitter with rough floral and fruity hops followed by crystal malt. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle. Milky caramel malt and orange peel aroma. Dark amber with large tan head. Lightly sweet citrus, light caramel malt, and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Lightly body. Boring.

See market grab just for ticking purposes. Amber brown red pour smallish head. Nose is caramel red fruit amd basement floor. Tastes of earth, berry, caramel, pine, woody. Astringent aftertaste. However still pretty enjoyable.

Part of their Night of the Living Dead variety 12-pak purchased in Vermont. Pours a clean darker amber colour with a warm creamy-frothy head that stays long, leaving some nice lacing. Hoppy spicy nose over biscuit and caramel malts. Breaded malt taste with the grassy sharp hops. A nice malty-bitter-hop flavour lingers. Quite a nice hoppy red ale.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a burnt amber color with a sly transparency about it. Carbonation moves upward at a slow pace to fill a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipates at a nice pace. Ringy foamy to semi-bubbly lace weaves around the glass.
The aroma has that \"green\" fresh hoppiness (normally found in some of those hop burn-ish AIPA’s). But normally like MH beers, the hops are there, they just seem somewhat dried floral to a slight \"glossy/muddled\" earthy hops. Caramel and toffee malts come in slyly to a baked breadiness.
The flavor is fairly earthy bitter. Slick oily hoppiness creates the associated hop burn I was ready for. Big earthy slick oily aftertaste and runs into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body. Fairly sessionable. Carbonation hits fairly low. \"Green\" / fresh hop burn does hit.
Overall, interesting red ale that drinks like an AIPA (aroma, flavor and feel just seems to lean to the AIPA). I like it for me, but true fans of amber ales might want to take a second guess on this beer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 8/12/2016. Pours lightly hazy reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light chocolate/nuttiness, floral, grass, and toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and dark/roast/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light chocolate/nuttiness, floral, grass, and toasted earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange rind, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light chocolate/nuttiness, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and, balance of citrus/pine hops and dark/roast/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance, and some lingering hop astringency after the finish; but not too overwhelming. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and moderately creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a very good hoppy red ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and, balance of citrus/pine hops and dark/roast/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. Would have been better without the hop astringency, but I really enjoyed it.

Bottle from the Lazy Dog Pours a deep amber color bordering on copper with a decent sized bubbly off white head. Big caramel and toffee on the nose with some earthy hops to counter. Rich caramel maltiness with a hint of toffee flavor. Earthy hop flavor with a moderate level of bitterness. Not sure why I picked this up, but I am pleasantly surprised. Its not too bad for an amber ale, Roxy Rolles rides again?
