Craft Islington bottle share. Thanks to Ade. Hazy deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Mellow tangy dark malts, mild dark chocolate. Piney tangy dark fruits. Dry finish leaves a tangy bitter linger. Decent, could be a little smoother.

Bottle 330ml (BB 09.2017). Dark brown with big, beige head with good lacing. Aroma is characteristic to black ipa with combination of dark malts and a lot of american hops, fresh and really nice. Delicate hoppy in taste with note of dark malts, smooth, low bitter, medium body but drinkable. Good sample of black ipa.

Bottle aft Craft Islington, thanks to Mr Tipple. It pours hazy deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is quite soft, sweet, chocolate cake, toasty, wood and some citrus. The taste is dry, roasted, earth, leather, wood, floral, peppery juniper and a touch of citrus. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty OK, but didn’t wow me.

Bottle shared in London / cheers! Pours clear red-brown with a foamy tan head. Toasty malts in the nose, some grains, orange peel. Light-medium sweet flavour with moderate earthy bitterness, light cocoa, burnt pine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with burnt brown bread, earth, toasty pine. Not bad.

Bottle, from Drinks of the World Basel. Pours dark brown with a light beige and quite stable foam. Aroma is a nice mix of what BIPAs should be, both pleasant spring-like hops and some clear roast aromas. Body is medium and quite heavy, with a smooth texture. Medium long palate, focusing on the roast flavours. Quite nice and easy to drink, but also not terribly intense.

330ml bottle [another gem from Baslebier, thank you very much!]. Darkest brown colour with ruby red glimmer and huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, ochre-ish, beige to tan head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, citrusy hoppy overtones, slightly zesty hints of orange and mandarine, a touch of lemon. Taste is slightly sweet, mildly chocolately dark malty, milk chocolate, citrusy, zesty, and minimally herbal-grassy overtones, hints of lemon, lime. Mild and well-behaved.
