Bottled. Pours Amber you know. Malty vertebrae. Some hops. Not too bad for a cheapo Aldi 6 packer

Fat Tire for people who think Fat Tire is too hop-forward. On the plus side...the bottles are recyclable.

With a name, label and style deScriptor (Belgian amber) like that, you think someone is gunning for Fat Tire? Well I think NB doesn’t have anything to worry about, at least as far as most people are concerned. Not me, I hate Fat Tire, and like this one marginally better. It is less hoppy, more Belgian-y in the fermentation profile with a mix of bubblegum, really vague fruitiness, and some caramelized malt. Balanced finish shows a nice hop finish, but there’s virtually no aroma/flavor hopping. If anything maybe just a slight hint of those cascades in the flavor. Slick mouthfeel.

Bottle. Toffee malt and hay aroma. Amber with nice off-white head. Mildly sweet apple, toffee malt and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Body a bit light. Decent especially given it was $5.99 for a sixer. Aldi’s is the go-to place in the states for decent cheap beers.

Bottle: Pours clear copper with a small white head. Light caramel, bread scent. Taste is slightly tangy/metallic, caramel malt, a little earth and nuttiness. Truly, not too bad for an Aldi’s find.....not much of a Belgian, but passable as a bargain amber.
