A clean and crisp lager with notes of honey and biscuit. The grain bill adds a beautiful gold hue and full flavor. The Gold Lager proves pilsner style lagers can be full flavored.

Bottle. Gold in color with a medium head. Aroma is grains, hay and kind of weak. Taste is Watery with grains, biscuit and a well balanced finish. Not much more just kind of plain Jane.

Appearance is pretty average. Aroma is quite mild- a little biscuit, fresh beer. Flavor’s like nose, plus some tang, honey, is slightly on sweet side. Body is ok. Overall, nothing special, forgettable.

Bottle. A- Sweet bread, grains, corn. A- Golden color, clear liquid, white head. T- Corn, cereal, sweet bread. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, boring finish. O- When you expect the worst, it’s helpful in order to not be letdown. This was bad. I expected that. Only positive about it was that it doesn’t have a nasty aftertaste. Beyond that I never want another.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 2/13/2015. Pours slightly hazy bright golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness; and very clean lager flavors with minimal yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very nice pale lager style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle: Pours clear gold with a small white head. Barley malt, honey scent. Taste is sweet....barley malt, honey, grains...slightly fruity. Not bad at all, fairly rich taste for the lightness....Nothing off....pretty solid for the style.
