Location: 12 oz bottle at a BBQ, 7/9/14

Aroma: Thew aroma is sweet/syrupy, some corn/lager, and a bit of wheat
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a small, fizzy head
Flavor: The taste is basically a sweet and syrupy lager, which is as substandard as it sounds
Palate: The body is light, it is a little watery and a little sticky, with an okay feel
Overall Impression: It's kind of what you would expect from a lager with blue agave. It leans sweet/syrpuy, but otherwise, it is just a mediocre-to-okay lager...

12 ounce bottle from Wegman’s Lake Manassas, opened 6/6/14. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized fizzy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of wheat and corn. The taste is corn, wheat, agave in the finish. Thin bodied, low carbonation, slightly sweet. Not bad.

A friend brought this over the house because "I know you like beer" - thanks, brah - aroma is sweet, syrupy, smelling almost like ginger ale - flavor is also quite sweet, with some creamed corn and vegetable notes - finish is vanilla syrup and some innocuous touch of spice - hard to get through even a few sips - the finish leaves a sweet film in the mouth, like soda with high fructosecorn syrup often does.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is not what I was expecting. Some coriander and grains of paradise with a light citrus character. Light wheat notes with some sweetness. Spices definitely dominate the light aroma. I did not realize this was meant to be a Mexican Witbier. A weird note that reminds me of funnel cake. Pours a clear, golden color with a moderately thick, pillowy white head that displays good retention and retains a small layer of head throughout. Medium lacing and faint legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with some lime character and quite a bit of agave syrup. Much lighter spice note in the aroma, but the sweetness is off putting. Light bitterness, not much malt character. Medium citrus notes. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, I do not like this beer very much, but it proves that when offered a free beer I will take it. I think it was meant to be like a Witbier or a Mexican beer with a lime already added, but I am not a fan. The syrup leaves it too sweet and there is not malt or yeast character.

Bottle thanks to Benito. Pours a clear orange with small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is agave and corn malt. Medium mouthfeel with sweet corn and agave. Good.

Lime flavored tortilla chips, a jar of salsa, mariachi music playing on Spotify, and 2 bottles of agave flavored lager. I can’t think of a more authentically mexican way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Now that I am an expert on Mexican cultura, I’m going to judge their beer. Who can taste the beer with all that salty lime tortilla dust? Sin embargo, color de oro mate, aroma de maiz y grano, sabor era similar, final de llano y sencillo. Pulcro y decente.
