This Scottish Ale was a 2015 GABF Bronze Medal Winner and a 2016 AmeriCan beer festival Silver Medal Winner. It’s all about caramelized malt notes that showcase tones of brown sugar and toffee. Deep amber in color and a smooth finish. Traditionally Scottish Ales contained very minimal to zero hops allowing the higher amount of malt to shine through in the form of sweetness. We took our time to caramelize the brewing sugars to create a low bitterness, sweet beer with notes of caramel brown sugar and cinnamon.

355ml can at my daughters (Laguna Hills, California); first beer of my stay on 5th December 2021. Slight haze to the reddy brown body, off-white wispy head. Malty front with a caramel sweetness and mini cinnamon twist within the flavour.

Draft at a hotel in Tucson, AZ. Almost clear red color, some head and lace. Flavor is malt forward, fig, toffee, and sweet caramel notes. Low carbonation, slightly sweet finish. Thinner body. Not bad just a lame style in general.

Can: Pours almost clear, red-brown, with a thick, light tan head. Caramel, toasty scent. Taste is fruity, caramel malt, a hint of what seems like strawberry... Tasty.....mild....good rich maltiness.

Poured up at Flanny’s Arizona on Tap Festival with a nice looking amber body that has a slight haze and copper edges and supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up sweet malts, caramel, kind of bready, kind of doughy and then it ends with slivers of sweet smelling prune like fruity esters. The taste is similar with sweet malts and caramel candy that have a slight doughy edge to them. To midway those notes are further sweetened by some thin sweet prune and ripe cherry like fruity esters. Pretty nice.
