The ancient ritual of brewing a distinctly rich and flavorful beer is a performance to behold. Our mysterious melange of time-honored ingredients harmonize with chaotic chemistry, humble patience, and blind faith to create this unique beer to share in the rousing company of kindred spirits. Cheers!

Bottle from Harvest Market Crystal clear amber/brown color with a smallish off white head that dissipates slowly. Caramel malt earthy pine hop light fruit, cardboard and toffee with a touch of alcohol. Middle of the road. Nothing horrible and nothing exciting.

12 ounce bottle from the winter sampler. Pours a clear amber with a thin frothy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, mild nuts. No hops. The taste is caramel, nuts, citrus hops. Medium bodied, a little sweet, and doesn’t really deliver as promised.

Bottle. Chocolate (like a Tootsie Roll) malt and hay aroma. Chestnut with moderate head. Sweet chocolate fudge malt and moderate bitter herbal hay flavor. Not bad.

12oz bottle pours with a cherry red amber body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up bits of malts and roasted malts but then it quickly picks up a nice load of hops that are mostly grassy and pine and then snippets of fruity citrus blended with estery cherries and apples. The taste starts malty as well as sort of pine hops mixed with a nice earthy hop note that has an edge of earthy black tea. To midway it gets a resiny with bitter hops as well as sweet with fruity esters and a dash of citrus hops. Pretty nice.

Picked up at some random bodega somewhere in NYC: Pours reddish brown with a whitish head. Aroma is caramel, earthiness, a bit of chocolate, and some hops. Taste is much the same. Not too sweet. Nice hoppy undertone. Certainly not bad. I wasn’t as excited about this as some of the previous raters though.

Enjoyed while strolling down the streets with the kids on Halloween. A plastic cup full of beer is an under-rated treat while the kids are getting their candy. Light cocoa, rich citrus and resiny hops make this a decently hoppy brown ale.
