Bottle. Light orange malt and orange peel/pine aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. MIldly sweet orange malt and lightly bitter orange peel flavor. Pretty good - this seems to be up to the quality of the Red Hook beers I had in the 90s.

12 ounce bottle from Harris Teeter Charlottesville Barracks, opened 6/26/14. Pours a hazy peach color with a thin frothy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of toasted pale malt, citrus, mild tropical note. The taste is tropical and citrus hops and pale malt. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, decent balance.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has lots of earthy grains and biscuit notes with some grassy hops backing. Flavor starts with biscuit and sweet grain that is joined by grass and a bit of light pine.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is nice and hoppy with a big citrus snap. Flavor is also well hopped. Very herbal and resin hops used. Well hopped and they stand out way more here than a lot of other blonde ales. This is hopped more then some pale ales I’ve had.

12 oz bottle from the Craft Brew Alliance Explorer variety pack bought at Winco in CDA, ID. Aroma is nice and hoppy--citrus, pine, pineapple, cat piss. Also, earth, dough. They sure are making blonde ales more interesting these days aren’t they? Pours clear golden with some particles floating around under a collapsing white head. Taste is also hop-forward but with that earthiness right alongside. Body is somewhat thin, but not in a bad way. With these hop-forward examples coming out lately, it’s getting to the point where blonde ales and American Pale Ales are pretty much one and the same, I think.
