8/4/2018. Bottle courtesy of Boris. Pours bronze with a lasting semi-firm off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, hop, toffee, nut and Neapolitan ice cream. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Medium to full bodied, slightly creamy texture, very soft carbonation. Dry, fruity, caramel finish. Liked this.

Nutty color with a big foamy off white head. Good lacing. Fine intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average to rich carbonation level. Balanced sweetness and bitterness. Herbal, mild bready, fruity and some roast in the flavor.

0.33 l bottle from 'Holy Craft Beer Store', best before June 2018. Clear, reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, fruity, grassy-spicy and slightly resiny aroma of caramel, pine, raisins, blueberries and some citrus. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, grassy-spicy, slightly fruity, resiny and a bit roasty taste of caramel, pine, raisins, toasted nuts, blueberries and traces of citrus, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, rather grassy-spicy and slightly resiny finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice, fairly complex taking into account the style and its abv.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, dark amber to brown colour with a beige and firm foamy head. Slightly toasted malty and nutty aroma with slighty citric and spicy hoppy notes. Mildly bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty base with hints of chocolate and chestnuts, backed by slightly citric and delicately resiny hops; quite lasting bitter-sweet finish with present hops character. 20.X.17

330ml bottle. Milky, dark copper to chestnut colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Nutty, toasty, malty aroma, notes of hazelnut, a touch of nougat, minimally resinous, hoppy overtones, remote, almost "elapsed", cherry overtones. Taste is nutty, toasty malty, hints of hazelnut, a touch of Brazil nut, resinous and minimally fruity hoppy overtones, cautious residual sweetness. Very well balanced - really good Altbier.

Fläschla: Almost clear, amber coloured, medium-sized persistent creamy off-white head; moderate dry toasty and herbal-hoppy nose; moderate dry - as well - bitter and delicately sweet flavour, almost medium bodied, smooth; lingering bitter-herbal finish , balanced by a toasty maltiness. Chapeau! Hardly worse than the great originals from D'dorf...
