Local’s Light is a classic American Lager crafted by Joe Short in 2004 to be “beer in its simplest form”. It’s a bright yellow beer with effervescent aromatics of fresh malted barley and lager yeast. Local’s Light has soft and subtle flavors of malt that finish crisp and clean making it perfectly balanced for smooth and easy drinkability.

Local’s Light underwent a rebrand in early 2018. You can read all about the new look of Local’s Light here.

tap at Boyne in Michigan. Simple light beer - nice for as easy drinker, nothing showy

Can from Busch's. Pours a clear straw gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Sweet aromas, almost estery like a saison or Belgian pale ale. Banana and faint grain notes. Lingering sweetness on the palate. Clean and crisp with a banana cream pie thing at the end. I don't think this is very lager-like but it tastes good.

12 oz. can. Pours a clear pale yellow-gold color with a white head and good retention. Fair lacing. Grainy, lemony aroma. Grainy, lemony flavor too with light sweetness. Crisp, clean and refreshing. A little watery mouthfeel. Light body. Straightforward and flavorful for only 4.0% ABV. Well done and repeatable.

Crisp and slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of grass, metal, light malt, cardboard, a bit of funky sugars and a dose of fruits - mainly oranges. Light-bodied; Definite fruity and grassy qualities at first with some white grapes, oranges, lemons and a touch of grass noticeable, while showing some subdued malt elements, cardboard and finishing with a nice yeastie note with bread, grass and even some honey noticeable. Aftertaste is light and dry with some mellow sweetness, a touch of grain and a kick of yeast noticeable as well. Overall, a decent and refreshing beer that shows the start of the summer pretty well, plus a good light option from a real brewery in Michigan! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 24-July-2015 for US$1,79 sampled at home in Washington on Memorial Day 2017 on 29-May-2017.

High hopes for this can, I’ve just run thru a few different short IPAs. Aroma is mild vanilla and metal. Looks like a pleasant hay colored slightly hazy lager. Good co2 initially. Yes, lighter flavor, probably should be listed as a pale lager. Does have a little more yeast flavor than most pale lagers. I almost think it may be some kind of belgian yeast. Goes down fairly easy in the end, overall medium experience refreshment.
