Poured from a 750 ml bottle; 2017 vintage. Aroma is spice forward with quite a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon. Light vanilla and yam notes with some faint maple syrup. Light chocolate notes with some toffee and dark caramel. Light alcohol notes. Pours black with a medium sized, fairly thick, mocha head that recedes fairly quickly to a thin film that lingers for a bit on the edges. No lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with some bakers chocolate notes and a bit of dark caramel and toffee. Moderate bitterness with some light alcohol spice. Moderate cinnamon and nutmeg notes with lighter yam and vanilla notes. Hints of maple. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low to medium low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent beer but not amazing; that's probably because I don't like cinnamon and nutmeg in my beers. The darker malt profile works better with the spices, but I think it hides the vanilla, maple and yam notes a bit.
