Bottle. Raisin and toffee malt aroma. Amber with small head. Sweet toffee malt, hay, and light alcohol flavor. Not bad.

Bottle: Pours nearly clear brown with a small, soapy, off-white head. Bready, fruit aroma...floral. Taste is flowery, spiced toffee and bread. Malty..light. Just ok, a bit flat and bland.

1 pint 0.9 oz. bottle from BrewTopia. No date on the bottle. English pint shows a nice amber/ brown color. Very minuscule head. Nose is malt scotch. Flavor is malt dominate with some light fruit notes in the background. Light notes of toffee. Lighter side of medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Can this be an English Strong ale at 5.9%?? No problems with this just a bit boring. It is easy enough to drink.

Bottle from Half Time. Love this brewery. Black Cat, Pendle Witches, etc. Pours very hazy amber with just a few whiteish bubbles. Aroma of old darkish fruit. With toffee. Full bodied - but thins a lot as the carb leaves. It is so Gales Prize Old Ale - like 14 years ago! It’s almost buttery - but not diacetyl. Maybe it’s overripe light stone fruit. Maybe it’s date. Maybe it’s mysterious. It’s lovely. It’s tasty. It is so over the pond - but they can’t get it there. Poor cousins.

Macarthur’s Beverages, DC 500ml ($4): Pours a orange-like color with a pretty small whitish head. Aroma is of toffee, a few flowery hops, and some subdued fruity flavors. Taste is much the same as the aroma. I think it is just a tad bit off-balanced. Bitterness is rather subdued. A little bit sweet, but not too much. Body is not as thick as I was expecting. Some caramel notes in there as well. Not too bad, but nothing particularly memorable here either.

Kibble and leather aroma with toffee overtones. Dingy brown, with floaties. Heavy yeast presence with floral hop flavor managing to break through, some toffee present. Chocolate finish. Watery. I love where this beer was heading, but it ran off the track somehow.
