Fresh-smooth, nice floral hops on a slightly sweet body. But too less roasted for a Black IPA. Sweetish-floral finish, with a low bitterness.
Nice, but too amber-mild for this style. 10/12/10/10

Fra delt flaske på Cafe Abseits, Bamberg 9 Okt 14. Svart. Lavt skum. God nøtte-/ fruktaroma. Smaken dominert av karamell med en bakgrunn av malt. Svakt syrlig ettersmak.

500ml swing-top bottle at Cafe Abseits shared with OleR, Finn and a few others, big thanks to Gerhard. Crocheted lacing from a tiny layer. Near-clear, dark brown body. Cocoa powder, dark honey, and coffee to the flavour character. Subdued smoked bitterness to the ending. Fine bodied. Just drinking pleasure (Bamberg 09.10.2014).

Bottle(RBESG 2014): Unclear, deep amber coloured with a ruby sheen, stable mid-sized off-white head; barnyardy, fruity and toasty nose, some presumably well hidden hops barely detectable; moderate bitter flavour with a certain residual sweetness; lingering chocolatey-toasty finish, followed by dry malty bitterness in the aftertaste. Well crafted, but still disappointin…

Bottle split at RBESG ’14 Grander Tasting, day 3 09/08/14, thanks to Jan. Well this one has had some mixed reviews recently ! Don’t worry - leave it to an expert ;). Dark mahogany brown with light beige edgeing. Nose is earthy hops, light pine, roasty tones, skunky notes, pissoi, faint tropicana. Taste comprises mellow roast, dark berry fruit, pine, earthy hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a peppering of hop bitterness and pine. Ok CDA, no more, no less.

RBESG pt 18. Moncada. Grand Tasting. Almost clear dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy. Mild dark malts, very mild, whisper of thin cream and roast. Mild pine hops. Light dry finish. A pretty thin cda. Okay.
