Sept 2014-12 oz bottle...spices on the sniff...cinnamon and a little nutmeg/ginger...weird almost like Pepsi on the first sip....I’m thinking this beer came from the swamps and needs to return there...its as tormented as the monster on the label....sharp sour spices...I feel like I’m drinking potpourri...bleh

Nutmeg and cardamom nose. Cleat garnet brown, medium tan head. Ginger and cardamom. Finishes with nutmeg. Medium body, but lacking a flavot base. Not very enjoyable for me. A bit of a spiced mess.

355 ml bottle. Clear, deep amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma is dominated by ginger, but also some cinnamon and caramel malt. Flavor has also lots of cinnamon, but not too much like some ginger ales tends to be with an almost burning ginger flavor. Soft caramel malt, moderate bitterness and some Christmas cake spices like cinnamon. Medium body and nice in aftertaste. This is a very nice spicy ale for me, e.g. something more than just a novelty beer, rather a beer I might enjoy to drink occasionally.

12oz bottle. Filtered caramel brown-burgundy. Thin beige head. Hmm.. tastes like a ginger forward pumpkin beer. Not bad, clean enough backdrop for the flavors to show off. Smooth on the palate, quite drinkable. Doughy brown chocolate caramel cinnamon ginger. OK.

Pour is a dark brown with a average white head. Aroma is mostly ginger but some spice is there. Flavor is way over the top ginger. So much so it blocks anything else the beer is trying to offer. Finish does have some caramel maltyness with a little lingering spice but that ginger overpowers. This is like part ginger ale and part beer.

Bottle. Sweet bready malt, slightly funky earthy ginger aroma. Clear chestnut with a moderate beige head. Toasty malt and earthy ginger flavor. Body on the light side of medium, moderate carbonation.
Taste like nothing.

Pours deep mahogany into a Sam glass. Tan head quickly recedes to hug rim. Cinnamon and ginger aromas. Sweet fruitcake upfront turning to ginger before the lasting cinnamon and mildly bitter earth finish.
