Ale La Reverend is a distinctively dry and light bodied Indian Pale Ale with an appealing golden hue. It has a thirst-quenching crispness and is laden with citrus and spruce hop aromas. Semi-sweet malt provides a backdrop for mild earthy flavors and slight grassy notes. Double dry-hop additions allows for a lower alcohol level while still providing the entire hop effect expected of a classic IPA.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 9/4/2013. Pours slightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big lemon zest, pineapple, orange zest, grapefruit, tangerine, pine, floral, grass, light honey, bread, and floral earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great complexity of hop notes with a fair amount of malt balance; and good strength. Taste of big lemon zest, pineapple, orange zest, grapefruit, tangerine, floral, grass, pine, bread, light honey, and floral earthiness. Large amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, pineapple, floral, grass, pine, bread, light honey, and floral earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity of citrus/tropical hop flavors with a fair amount of malt balance; with no cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4%. Overall this is a fantastic session IPA! All around great complexity, balance, and robustness of citrus/tropical hop flavors with a fair amount of malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Very hazy amber beer, fluffy white head. Crispy palate. Lovely fresh hops. Tangerine - orange and fresh yellow grapefruit. Pine. Mild minerals. Gets a little sweeter before the finish. Minerally bitter aftertaste. Great flavour for a little beer.

Bottle. Hazy medium-orange brown body, thin tight off-white head. Crisp grassy, floral, spicy hops nose. Dry body, very bitter, grassy, and toasty; resinous and a bit astringent; thin. Bitter finish. I prefer more body for a beer this bitter.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with a slight haze and a white head. This beer has tons of piney hop aroma, I keep looking for other hop aromas, but I just get more pine resin! Not a bad thing here. Flavor is less highly hopped, with pine and toasty herbal flavor. Fairly strong bitterness, a bit stronger than I’d like with the lighter amount of hop flavor. But a pretty nice job here.
