A medium bodied roasty porter with strong smoky notes and a mild spicy finish. The smoke and spice come from real chipotle peppers. Flavor profile very similar to that of traditional Mexican Mole' sauces.

Thanks Mike.
Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a deep dark brown color with a thin white foamy head that trickled off at a decent pace. Some light sliding spider web lace.
The aroma had some roasted malts, light smoke, little bit of chipotle heat, some tobacco, earthiness and some sweet wood.
The flavor seemed to balance well between the roast, smoke and chipotle heat as it playfully blended on into the aftertaste and finish.
The palate was about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty good spicy porter that I could have again if I could get it.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 12/21/2013. Pours nearly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, coffee, smoke, chili pepper, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and smoked pepper notes; with good strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, toast, roasted malt, light coffee, smoke, chili pepper, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Light amount of roasted bitterness and pepper spice on the finish with light heat; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, light coffee, smoke, chili pepper, herbal, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of dark/roasted malt and smoked pepper flavors; with a great malt/pepper balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming other than pepper heat on the finish. Overall this is a very nice pepper porter. All around well balanced dark/roasted malt and smoked pepper flavors; and very smooth to drink with the moderate pepper presence. A very enjoyable offering.

Bomber pour to pint glass. This was a good basic porter with a nice chili kick . . . just enough to make it interesting, not a burn that messes up the beer flavor. I don’t know that I would have enjoyed it as much if I drank it without an appropriate food. I had it with my wife’s homemade chicken chili. What a meal!

Bottle. Chocolate and smoky pepper aroma. Near black with a large tan head. Roasty malt, charred pepper, light warm capsaicin spice flavor with a light roasty bitter finish. Body on the lighter side of medium. One of the few pepper beers I’ve had lately that had what I could call any real warmth.
