Pumpkin Spice Ale.
It finally happened. Jerry made a pumpkin beer. He hates pumpkin beers. Good thing this is the best pumpkin beer in the whole damn universe. A healthy dose of gourd-flesh in the mash and a bit more in the boil pair well with the spice-sac we dangled in at the end of the boil. Some gentle German hops help bitter up and balance out this ale. Suck the flesh. Pumpkin flesh.

Sample at Brass Tap Polaris. The beer is a hazy dark amber color with a medium thick foamy off-white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of pumpkin spice, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of sweet pumpkin pie, caramel malt and fruit. The finish is sweet with a malt and spice aftertaste. Decent overall.

Caña en el Lupulo 01..04..2016. (r19). Buena y bastante original. Para repetir.

Euston Tap. Keg. Hazy deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and a little soft with decent fine carbonation. Smooth sweetish dark malts, some creamy sweetness. Mellow cinnamon and cloves. Mild fruity pumpkin. Light semi dry finish. A mellow Pumpkin beer, and the better for it.

On tap at Bottle Shop London. Deep ruby colour lasting tan head. Pumpkin spice aroma. Then what is the base beer? A kind of american ruby ale. Some fruity malt but it’s still quite light. Fruity and spicy. Quite a tasty blend. Some sweetness from the abv. Actually one of the better pumpkin beers I have had recently. Ok.

Tap at brewery. Strong ginger, smoky roasted pumpkin malt, light coffee aroma. Deep brown with a small off-white head. Ginger, smoky roasted pumpkin, ash, nutmeg, light coffee, and subtle bitter flavor. Medium body. One of the more unique and exceptional pumpkin beers I’ve tried. I liked the coffee touch, and the fact the brewer didn’t try to go all pumpkin pie with it.
