Joe, our Brew Master, went to Munich for a few days of inspiration for this Vienna style beer. He came back 3 weeks later, a little cloudy but focused on nailing this now popular brew.

Pours cloudy amber with a good, light tan head. Bready, toffee aroma. Flavour is sweet, malty, caramel with a dry bittering finish. Nice, subtle hopping.... Very mild, but pretty good.

I love these rather large bottles of hinterland. Big pounder bottle, quite unique in packaging. I’ll give it any extra 0.1 out of 5 for the bottle glass. Nice interesting aroma which is clean yet hint of tartness in the olfactory. Some bitter bite but it fades during the session. Decent kick without an in your face alky rudeness. Goes down with a litlle bit of a hinderance, oops, I mean hinterness, heheh. Yes, perhaps more hops than I care for ina fest. Somewhat medium dull bitter finish. Perhaps a little clying at times, maybe an old bottle, a few months.

Bottle. Light toffee malt aroma. Hazy amber color with large tan head. Slightly sweet toffee malt and lightly bitter hay flavor. Body pretty light. Not bad - straight forward.

Pale copper with a firm tan head. Aroma has caramel malts, toasted malt, a bit earthy, and a light spice. Medium-full bodied with a creamy feel. Flavor is full of sweet and toasted malts, a bit of biscuit, earth, a touch of chocolate, and a bit of zesty spice. A really nice lager.

Shaker pint draft at Nessun Dorma in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pour is a clear golden copper with a smallish frothy white head. Aroma is cracker bread malt, sweet caramel and an light floral hoppiness in the back. Fresh and clean nose. The taste starts with the caramel sweetness, turning to soft bready malt and finishing with the bright floral hoppiness. Flavors are straight forward, bright and clean. Palate is thin to medium bodied, slightly lower carbonation and the clean dry finish. Very drinkable beer, nice one.

Tap at Villa Tap. 2017. Pretty solid, better than the bottle I had years ago. Filtered gold orange body. Steady glass rimming white head. Pleasant interplay between the noble hops, Munich malt, amber(?) malt. Drinks with fruity tones... making me wonder if it an ale. Good.
