Can. Opaque dark brown hair copper small tan head. Smooth and slightly viscous palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, sweet but also a little tangy. A kinda savoury coffee, fruity too. Mild spice. Rounded but obvious maple. Spicy smooth finish. Tangy and interesting and drinks below its 15%. Doesn't quite have the drinkability of the very best.

Canned end of september 2019. Another heavy one. Funnily enough more alcoholic than the dessert. Plenty of maple, but also very savoury in a way, some solid roasty bitterness. Coffee, licorice, hopjes. Super intense, very flavourful.

Keg at Heaton Hops, Heaton Moor. Very, very dark brown with a ring of brown head. Pancakes dripping with syrup, black coffee in the aroma. Delicious taste, sweet maple syrup at first, then sinking into the bitterness of dark smoky malt and earthy hops for the long finish. Medium to heavy carbonation. It's not a particularly complex beer, but it's too well-made to be considered a simple gimmick. It's made me sleepy, so definitely not an early afternoon beer...

On tap at Himmeriget, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with maple syrup upfront, with light vanilla, and little else. Flavour is intense, with intense maple syrup upfront, light vanilla, and a hint cocoa. Like drinking maple syrup. Alcohol is hidden. Fun stuff.
