We do love Imperial Café Racer. The combination of smooth espresso and Madagascan vanilla is just fabulous. However, allowing it to rest in Bourbon barrels for nine months and creating this amazing brew was definitely time very well spent!

Can from House of Trembling Madness, online. Pours black with brief tanned head, minor retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, old bourbon, wood, vanilla. Taste is the same, sweet with a roasty bitterness and warming alcohol in the finish. Full bodied, smooth. A tad too much vanilla for me but otherwise its very good.

Can, courtesy of Ryan
Black colour, small head. Dark chocolate, light residual sweetness, some green peppers, some ashes; it's bold, but it's not as rich or balanced, and the price is too much for what it is.

Poured from 440mL can (small batch 18.2 edition; bb 25/11/2023). Black with small light tan head. Coffee, touch of wood glue, mild bourbon and chocolate, feint hint of green pepper. It's okay, luckily the wood glue and green pepper character is minimal. Room for improvement - overrated.

440ml shared with Ryan @ Alex's. Appearance: opaque brown with a beige head. Aroma: lots of green peppers, can't even smell coffee over it, weird barrel. Taste: along the same times. Overall: not very good.
