Polish imperial stout flavoured with cocoa nibs, maple syrup and cinnamon, thanks Niels for sharing at BCBF. Pale yellow-beige, mousy, open ring of a head, blackish robe with hazy mahogany edges of about half an inch deep. Aroma of elderberries, diluted chocolate milk, toffee, prunes, some cinnamon indeed but subtle, damp tree leaves, sweaty socks, beef jerky, madera, mold wood, hard caramel. Fruity onset, estery with blackberry- and plum-like impressions, sweetish but with a clear, ‘dim’, earthy sour undertone, likely from unintended infection but resulting in a very ‘oud bruin’-like effect; softish carb, slick, oily body, very nutty and nut-shell-like malts, caramelly and bitter-chocolatey too though the maple syrup softens the bitterness by adding sweetness later on; light meaty umami hint and roasty bitterness in the end, the latter enhanced by leafy hop bitterness and warming, rum-like alcohol. I don’t think that earthy, lactic sourness in this beer was intentional, as said, and it seems to have ‘eaten’ much of the cinnamon flavour, but it does create a sour stout- or indeed Flemish red-like effect which in this case makes it more interesting and complex than it would have been otherwise. Perfect example of a happy accident.

30/XI/19 - sample @ Day 2 of Billies Craft Beer Festival 2019, BB: n/a - (2019-2121) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Aroma: malty, spicy, some liquorice, roasted, coffee notes, nice! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of roasted barley, chocolate, coffee, cinnamon notes, some cardamom, caramel, malty. Aftertaste: dried fruits, cuberdons (forest fruit flavoured candy), roasted, chocolate, gingerbread. A bit too spicy for my liking, but not a bad beer at all…

Kran szynkarnia (plus że nie zimne) po Bgm Black&Sour gdzie był wysoki poziom ciemnych piw, trochę słabo wypada, słaby aromat, smakiem też się specjalnie nie broni.
