Introducing Pedigree, or “P” as it was first known. Strange that looking back. Anyway, it has a fascinating aroma. Palate of biscuit malt, spicy hops and light fruitiness. It was renamed in a staff competition back in George Peard’s day. He was our head brewer back in the day. Cheers George!

Enjoy with darker meats, pork pies, sausage & mash, steak pie or Sunday roast.

Can from local off licence, best-before 31/05/21. Pours a dark orange with a frothy white head and leaves some lacing. Aroma of caramel, biscuits and some malt. Not much flavour but some toffee, malt, quite sweet. Below average carbonation on palate, average bitterness, slightly thin body but nothing out of kilter. It’s an OK English bitter but I wouldn’t buy it again unless it was on discount.

Bottle from Lidl. Clear amber with a lasting, thin, off-white head. Aroma is rather indistinct, typical toffee & biscuit. Taste has peanut, caramel, brioche & apple. Dry, yeasty, bit grassy finish. Light to medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Completely inoffensive.

Nothing but cabbage and tin on the nose, has weak foam on a medium clear copper body. Flavour is boozy tin and caramel. Lingering adjuncts on the mouth. This is pretty substandard, even for a macro amber.

Ahhh, det var veldig lenge siden, soden jeg ikke har sett den i Norge på veldig lenge. Mahogny og maltrik og smaksmessig veldig vakker

Hazy amber, off-white head with some lacing. Aroma is all spicy grass, green walnut shells, almost no malts. Harsh. The taste is dry amber malts, oily bread crust, spicy peppery, walnut spicy bitterness. Ok.

Pours misty amber with a decent head of white colour. Faint malts and esters on nose. Light to medium body. Average to lively carbonation. Taste: medium dry. Light caramel, biscuit, esters, grassy hop, a touch of metal. Light plus bitterness. Drinkable. Unimpressive.
