This traditional IPA has fresh aromas of white flowers and citrus with a clean, bitter hop flavour. This classic India Pale Ale is made in Burton-upon-Trent, the home of British brewing. The recipe uses Fuggles, Goldings and Cascade hops and yeast from the Burton Union System, only used by the Marston's Brewery in Burton. The famous Burton water is also used in the brewing process which helps give the ale its distinctive flavour.

Bottle from Sainburys. This is a really nice IPA. That has plenty of hops in taste and aroma. Certainly worth a drink.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Slight hazy golden body with a thin white head. Light carbonation. Nice lacing. Dry aroma of burnt grass and mixed herbs. Flavour of metal, earth and grass. Faint bitterness. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Needs more hops to be classed as an IPA, more like a strong Lager.

Bottle from Sainsburys of course. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is weak malty. No hops here. The flavour is medium bitter with a hoppy, malty spicy palate.

Bottle from the Cromwell Road Sainsbury’s. Pours light amber with a slight white head. Aroma is floral over light caramel. Med body. Flavor is light caramel with some bitter hop that seems citrus with a little floral tagging along. It is classically bitter. My tongue says that to me. In the bitter finish the malt becomes a slight roast. IPA? Pretty tasty whatever. (just noticed this is an ESB - that fits much better than IPA)

Dark golden colour. Aroma is lightly floral and a bit fruity. Flavour has initial malty taste. Some hop fruitiness, a bit peachy. Overall there’s a metal taste ruins the beer’s finish.

Has a mild IPA aroma, but generally low on IPA character. Golden with no head but drinkable.

500ml bottle from the taste different series at Sainsburys. Shared with Finn. Clear copper coloured body. Film-type layer leaving spotty lacing behind. Malt-fruity nose. Modest taste of caramel malts and citrus fruits. Smooth bittersweet tail. Soft and clean in the mouth. Refreshing (hotel room, London, 06.11.2012).
