This luminous hazy-golden beauty is bursting with layers of super fresh, hoppy complexity: aromas of berry, tropical fruit, and citrus are married to undertones of resinous, dank spruce. The bitterness is firm yet soft around the edges, and the mouthfeel is creamy and luscious. Brewed with Mosaic, Falconer’s Flight, and Citra hops.

Tap at Atwood’s Tavern. It pours very lightly hazy bright orange with a decent white head. The nose is soft, juicy tangerine, mango, slightly sticky, candied peel and wet grass. The taste is crisp, clean, bitter, tangerine, pithy citrus, orange peel, mango, light pepper and some alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.

Draught at Lord Hobo, 9/1/15.
Minimally hazy deep copper liquid with a small amount of white head atop that slowly recedes to cover.
Good hop bouquet in the nose; lots of tropical fruits though cut with a good dose of pine and citrus. Not too resinous, and with good honey-like malts backing it. Clean, juicy and pretty aromatic, though not quite bursting forth from the glass, as some of the best DIPAs are. No alcohol or flaws noted in the nose.
At first there’s a big bitterness, citric and with a good shot of acidity but it’s undercut by a not so much sweet maltiness as it is oily/creamy and full, if somewhat dry (quite dextrinous) character. No obnoxious caramel or grainy/bready malts and the resin/acidity is held in check, though it finishes quite bitter and with quite a struggle between the malt and hops. Flavors are enjoyable, if somewhat tending a bit uniformly citric/piney. Carbonation is a bit lower than I’d like, leading to a somewhat sluggish mouthfeel, dampening the brightness. Sweetness increasing with warming and gets a bit sticky-sweet, though not terribly problematic. Certainly shows promise and I continue to get the feeling that these guys are held back by having to brew at other peoples’ breweries.
