Charrington was a London Brewery, founded in the early 18th century. The main Charrington brewery was finally closed in 1975 although IPA continued to be brewed in various breweries. Charrington I.P.A. was very successful across London, selling nearly 1m barrels p.a. in the 1950’s A malty aroma with resinous English hop notes. It has a pleasant hoppy bite leading to a smooth malty flavour.

Draft at Craft 100 Spring 2016 - Craft Beer Co. Clapham, London. Pours clear, rich gold with a tight, creamy white head. The nose holds pale grains and orange peel. Light to medium sweet flavour with further grainy malts, light dough, bread. Light in body with fine carbonation. Pretty nice on the finish, with hints of grain, butterscotch and toffee. An alright British ale.

Craft 100 at Craft Clapham. Cask. Hazy amber beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Caramel malts, not that sweet. Bitter floralness. A carbonated nip in the mid. Dried fruits, some citric peel and a little orange. Light crisp finish. A decent bitter in great condition.
