An amber ale with a thin white head. Aroma of nail polish remover and caramel. In mouth, a light caramel malt with light mineral notes. Light bodied non descript ale. Bottle 11th Annual CNY Brewfest, Feb.5 2007.

Bottle. Corn malt aroma - hint of the sorghum. Medium amber with small head. Slight sweet corn malt aroma with a mild bitter finish and moderate carbonation and acidity - really don’t get much of a sorghum flavor with this which is probably a plus for many people but I enjoy it. Nevertheless, this is a nice drinking beer and as others have stated, a Godsend for beer drinkers on a gluten free diet. I personally wouldn’t mind more sorghum beers on the market.

Nice light smell. Like wheat? Like an amber ale - "malty" with some hop? Certainly not that corny Bud aroma. Light amber color with a white head that went fast. Medium mouthfeel. Starts very nice (almost like a light amber ale), then gets a burst of sweetness, followed by a complex of unfamiliar flavors. The finish seems fairly balanced with hop, dominated by a strange flavor that must be the sorghum. Makes me think of Mongozo. Better than Bud any time.

bottle - Pours light amber with a very thin head and very little aroma. This beer is A-B’s effort to provide their too mild beer to people with celiac disease. As expected from A-B, it’s not all that good, but it actually seems to have a bit more flavor (it’s sweet) than Bud. Not terrible.

Clear golden-peach body is lightly bubbly, producing an off-white head that is small and shows moderate retention, little/no lacing.
Sorghum is easily distinguishable in the nose (gives a light buttertoffee/graham cracker/vanilla sort of aroma/flavor) and provides light sweetness, while citric hops are actually apparent, though lightly so. What I dont find is any DMS or diacetyl OR acetyldehyde. Wow, that’s a first. The sorghum gives a slight roundness to the aroma as well, that, while perhaps not so appropriate for a pale lager (which should be all about crispness), is still pleasantly surprising when taking in to account that this is a Bud product. And hop bitterness and light yeast apparency do add enough dry/crispness on the finish to make it passable. Medium strength of aroma, no alcohol noted.
Big sorghum flavor emulates the nose, with more residual sweetness than you usually get from AB. Buttertoffee is strong, with light dough and biscuits towards the finish. Gentle hop bitterness helps control the malt, some very light lemon and orange flavors, with a touch of grassiness. Carbonation is moderate, and while not tight or engaging, is at least not overly aggressive. The only slight flaw that I noticed was a bit of a metallic flavor on the end.

Bottle: Dusty blonde pour with a thick, foamy white head. Nose is more grain and mustiness. Tastes has a little fruity zest/tartness and some light hop bitters. As far as the sorham goes, I didn’t have any expectations here, but was not surprised either.

Pour is a dark yellow with a white head. Aroma is very sweet with some hops showing up. Flavor kinda weak with some bitterness and a easy going sweetness. Can’t really put this one over the top but as far as sourgum beers goes i would say this is one of the better ones i have had.

Well its the best of 2 sorghum beers I’ve tried (it doesn’t say "gluten-free" but I’ll assume it is). Drinks like an ordinary american dark lager (its not a pale lager despite the classification). Pours a orangey-amber color with a nice full creamy head. Features a modest hop aroma, a touch spicy, maybe a touch of citrus. Flavor is leaning towards a caramelized flavor, with a medium easy finish. Lightish body but not watery. A fair beer and if you need gluten-free, this one isn’t a bad way to deal with it.
