draught in h town pours dark, a bit of caramel malt. Nothing fancy but ticks the boxed.

From old tasting notes. Translucent reddish brown color has an immense creamy tan head. Light roasted malt aroma. Toasted malt flavor. Dry finish has grassy hops. Less complex than the lighter CD Pils. OK, but not as good as other German Dunkels.

12oz bottle. Translucent amber-brown color. Minimal soda-like head. I’d have to guess the bottle was old. Pungent, devolved dark malt tones. On the light side of medium bodied. Some toffee tones. Cheap Eastern-European dark beer. Probably way better fresh, certainly not one to age.

Bottle. Pours a brown with a frothy head and aromas of sweet malt and grain dust. Flavor is toffee and sweet malt with touches of dark fruit, but sits short on complexity.

I really liked this beer. Reminds me of a dopplebock but with less going on. Would like to try on tap - only had from bottle.

bottle - Pours dark amber with a thin head. It smells of caramel malts and as expected that’s what dominates the flavor as well. There’s some mild hops in there. This medium bodied beer isn’t a bad quaff, but nothing stands out about it either.

Sold in a green bottle, but was not the least bit skunky. The aroma was of lightly roasted malts, hops, and was a little beefy. Tea coliored pour with a thin off white head. Relatively weak flavor with some hops and roasted grains detectable. Uncooked pasta finish ringed with some lower quality hops, very subdued though.

This is nice. Surprisingly full flavored. Aroma has roasted malt and toasted bread. Dark brown color with low carbonation. Flavor is roasted grain. They did a good job with this. Great body, especially for the style.

Bottle: Brown pour in medium depth, nice sized foamy tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is malty and roasted malt. Tastes of chocolate and malty sweetness with a little hop bitterness in the tail. Dry finish. Not too bad.

Has a slight roasty aroma and it continues on into a roasty flavor. Lighter in color than Warsteiner dunkle but is heavier in taste. Below average carbonation.
