Sampled from a 12 oz green bottle this beer poured a dark mahogany color with a large tan head. The aroma is sour dark malts with a hint of molasses. The flavor is sour dark malts with a lightly roasty element and an undertone of tangy molasses.

Bottle. Slight hint of cherry in there. Dark color, with a flavor you’d expect from a dark beer. Sweet, roasty, and malty all over.

Dark brown colour. Fairly bland caramelly character. Light accents of crackers and molasses. Moderate body. Sweet finish. Malts are a bit thin. Pretty standard macro dark.

Dark amber beer with a medium tan head, that laces the glass as it subsides and a hoppy aroma. The taste was malty with some coffee and caramel aftertones.

Bottle. Light molasses malt and vinegar aroma. Light clear brown color with small head. Strong dark malt flavor - slightly burnt flavor - strong acidity and moderate carbonation - tastes much stronger than the aroma and appearance would lead you to believe. A perkier dunkel - much more sharp tasting than is typical for the style.

Pour is a dark cola looking with a thin fizzy head. Aroma is weak malts. FLavor is a dark fruit like with a bit of a breadyness in there. Overall pretty weak across the board. The best thing is that this is fairly cheap and you could drink many w/o getting to bored.

Some aspects of the dark Dink are very good and some are overly disappointing. Good color and aroma, but too sweet to be a really good Dunkel. On the other hand it is a rich sweet beere and I'm sure it will have a fan base of it's own.

On tap, a nice alternative to Oktoberfests at this time of year. Pours with a thin brown body and a thin, quickly disappearing tan head. Malty aroma followed by sweet, somewhat roasted, malt flavors. A nice staple at the local German bar, Steinkeller.
