Imperial Stout Aged in Brandy Barrels with Roasted Cacao Nibs, Coffee, and Vanilla.

This is a whole new Baptist, of course still Big and Bad, but the big guy is moving on up to also be refined and sophisticated. We took our award-winning Imperial Stout and aged it 100% in Brandy barrels with just a touch of coffee and vanilla. Smoking jacket optional; snifter highly recommended.

Bottle shared at tasting. Opaque pitch black color, average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma is malts, roasted malts, espresso, bitter. Flavor is similar. Oh yeah: malts, roasted malts, light vanilla, espresso, coffee and espresso bitter. Dark chocolate / cocoa bitter notes. Bloody hell, quite awesome. I love this. Heavy, but lovely.

2019 Batch 2. Black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, dark malt, chocolate, brandy, oak, coffee, vanilla and caramel. Flavour is light heavy sweet with a light background of sourness. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Seems there’s a light infection though thankfully it’s not had enough time to ruin yet.

Bottle shared with Marte. Release #2. 2019 Rare Release. Opaque black color, medium sized light brown colored head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, boozy a bit, brandy...hmm well not really to be honest if you'd ask me. Cocoa nibs, coffee, well somewhat I guess. In the flavor malts, dark malts, cocoa, coffee, boozy, somewhat bitter. Well in the end quite pleasant. I like it.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is decadent and luxurious, with lots of brandy barrel, vanilla, coffee and cocoa nibs. Flavour is rich and complex, with loads of brandy, vanilla, coffee, and alcohol. The brandy is really wonderful here. Lots of coffee here as well. Lovely.
