Imperial stout brewed with dulce de leche, milk sugar, and cinnamon

We once again teamed up with our pal Kyle, from Horus Aged Ales, to bring you this delightfully decadent treat. Inspired by the cinnamon laden Spanish treat, this pastry stout was brewed with dulce de leche, milk sugar, and cinnamon. Have we piqued your Churriosity yet?

4 oz draft. Aroma is dolce de Leche, condensed milk, cinnamon. Flavor is ridiculously rich. Thick chocolate, mild dolce de Leche, and a long, lingering cinnamon that sort of cuts the sweetness, but not really.

Can: pours black with beige head. Aroma is choclate, cinnamon, caramel. Body is bot super thick. Cinnamon does not overwhelm. Definitely large but booze is covered. Still a slow sipper.

Can. Pours inky black with a very small brown head, wispy ring, no lacing. Aroma is heavy cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla, bourbon. Flavor is full sweet, light bitter, heavy adjuncts. Full body. Heavy handed.

From a 473ml can on 4/4/2021. Pours a deep deep brown with a small head which disappears immediately. Smells of chocolate, fudge, cinnamon and bourbon. Tatses very sweet, lots of milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla and cinnamon, with a mild roasty bitterness, featuring a dash of bourbon and some warming booze. The mouthfeel is syrupy, the carbonation softish. A delicious dessert beer.

16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 11/8/2018. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon bark, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, fudge, brownie batter, bourbon, cinnamon whiskey, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with light notes molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, oak char, herbal, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, cinnamon, dulce de leche, and bourbon/cinnamon whiskey barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon bark, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, fudge, brownie batter, bourbon, cinnamon whiskey, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with light notes molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, oak char, herbal, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness. Mild herbal, roast, charred bitterness; and bourbon, cinnamon, oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon bark, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, fudge, brownie batter, bourbon, cinnamon whiskey, coconut, toasted oak, roasted nuts, biscuit, dark/brown bread, light molasses/fruit/smoke/char, herbal, pepper, and yeast/roast/toast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, cinnamon, dulce de leche, and bourbon/cinnamon whiskey barrel flavors; with a fantastic roasted bitter/sweet and bourbon/whiskey/oak/cinnamon spiciness balance; with zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and bourbon/whiskey/cinnamon spiciness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Mild increasing warmth of 14.2%, with minimal lingering barrel booze after the finish. Overall this is an amazing flavored barrel aged imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, cinnamon, dulce de leche, and bourbon/cinnamon whiskey barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/spicy/tannic/drying finish. Amazingly soft feel; not overly roasty/charred on malts, or boozy/tannic on barrels. Perfectly balanced between super rich malts, lactose, cinnamon/dulce de leche flavorings, and bourbon/cinnamon whiskey barrel presence/integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly amazing offering, and top tier experiential style example. Not overwhelming on any aspect.

Can thanks to William. Pours a dark brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is intense cinnamon, maple syrup, roast. Thick body, cinnamon, caramel, very boozy, enjoyed this.

Bottle at share. Truth in advertising. Tastes like a churro. Dark brown, flat. Aroma is boozy, cinnamon. Taste is sugary and sweet, more cinnamon. Nice
