Brewery draught, 11/25/25, as pictured.
Great, great name. Pretty standard red IPA with a tasteful amount of spruce. Could stand some more malt softness, as the medium malts, PNW hops and spruce all push it in a very dry and bitter direction. But it's still malty and well-made stuff.

Lots of spruce, some it it piney from hops. Resin and some caramel. Dark brown pour with good head and lacing. Bitter finish with some cloying astringency, though light. Generally pleasant enough of a beer. Can from Brew Shop Advent calendar.

Pour is a dark amber with a large white head. Aroma is big piney hop or is that the spruce tips. Flavor is more pine hops with a wintergreen finish. Not sweet or heavy with the malt. This is piney an minty and pretty good.

Sample at Pint Room Dublin. Slightly hazy copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Resiny hops, spruce and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of spruce and hops, fruit and roast malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a piney hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Yea, superspak out did himself below! LOL. Me, I had this at the magic tree in boardman. It had an Iced tea color. Scummy head. A dull old pine hops nose. First taste was quite bitter and astringent. Some rude ass hops in there. I'm not much on highly hopped brews and the spruce in this really accentuates the hops. There, you have. Difficult for a lager lover.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/15/2018. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy medium orange/amber/light copper color with a 1 finger dense and rocky cream colored head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, spruce tips, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, spruce tips, and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, spruce tips, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, spruce tips, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, spruce tips, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is an awesome red IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, spruce tips, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Feels like a lot of Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops/spruce; with a great balancing malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and outstanding spiced style example. Not overdone on the spruce at all, melds perfectly with the hop profile.
