Straightforward American lager, like drinking a checklist of what a well-made “blue-collar” beer should be, with no frills thrown in for beer geek ruminating. Pours an ugly yellow with a brief white head and no lace. Cracker malt with a hint of grain backed up by hints of lemon, white bread and corn. Modest floral hops on the back end. Not much here, really. Fits right in line with the rest of these new breed craft brewed easy-goin’ football ‘n barbecue beers. Drinkable as hell, but...eh.

16 ounce can into lager glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours sightly hazy pale golden straw color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Minimal lacing on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Touch of fruity corn aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with pale mat/corn and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness of pale malt/corn and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with a great malt/bitterness balance and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very clean on lager flavors, with minimal fruity/yeasty notes present. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and fairly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a very good pale adjunct lager. All around nice robustness of pale malt/corn and light-moderate earthy hop notes; very smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Clean barley/grain flavors, and nice earthy hop presence/balance for the style. Not overdone on corn adjuncts. A very enjoyable and well made offering for the style.
