Sample at Daily Growler Powell during the "4 Year Anniversary: Hoof Lunch + Evening Party" on 07/20/2018. The beer is a clear golden color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Fruity aroma with some hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, malt and subtle kiwi. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Can. A- Fruity, skunky, straw, rotten melon, grassy. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Fruity, rotten fruit, straw, skunky, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, astringent finish. O- Always intrigued by kiwi beers and haven't had many but this was pretty bad. Tasted like a heaping mess filled with rotten fruit put out in a hay field. Fairly bitter too. This was not good at all.

12 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/light tart/tangy kiwis, strawberry, orange, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pear, red apple, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, white bread dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, kiwis, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/light tart/tangy kiwis, strawberry, orange, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pear, red apple, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, white bread dough, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness; and slight fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy kiwis, strawberry, orange, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pear, red apple, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, kiwis, and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and slightly acidic/tangy mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is an excellent fruited DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, kiwis, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/drying finish, not aggressive. Really great balance of juicy/light dank NZ hops, kiwis, and bready malts. Not overly sweet/heavy, and not over done on fruit as I hoped. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example as expected.
