By approachable I guess they mean kind of watered down. Not bad, some grassy grain and I guess ok for the "post lawnmower serve cold" label bit pretty nondescript overall.

Can picked up at the state store. Pours clear light golden with a small off-white head, light lacing. Grainy, grass, pale malts and citrus zest. Ok

Review notes from July, 2017. The pour comes out a deep gold, more visibly rich than the average lightly malted beer. The head is about a finger thick, somewhat dense and white. The nose brings up some of the base beer smell of a pilsener, a bit of hard water emphasizing some German noble hop character. That pils quality comes through in the taste, with more hoppiness, true, and also less sweetness than I sometimes get in a blonde ale. There's also just a trace of the estery note from a warm-fermenting ale. Overall, it has plenty of malt, balanced but more hops than you'd expect in a blonde ale. Worth matching to lighter roasted meats like chicken or pork, to semisoft cheeses and for before desert.

Tall boy can pours with a crystal clear pure gold body that supports a white head. The aroma offers up floral and spicy hops as well as a dash of lime and bready maltiness. The taste delivers plenty of floral hop nuanced creamed corn flowing into a pleasing spicy and floral hop bitterness. Into the finish a mild cracker maltiness is noticed. Pretty solid brew with snappy hoppiness that prevents the annoying sweetness that typically plagues this style. I can drink plenty more of this.

18th Jan 2018, happy hour pint in Bar 1502, Ocean Beach, San Diego. The wife's choice, I had about a third of it as she liked it. Golden pour, off-white affair on top. The nose had hints of citrus fruits and fresh doughy bread. Taste had a semi-sweet maltiness and a citrus hop flavour which counteracted the malts sweetness.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 10/25/2017. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, pepper, light pear/apple, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange peel, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, pepper, light pear/apple, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate peppery, citrus peel, herbal, grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange peel, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, pepper, light pear/apple, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a very good American blonde ale. All around nice robustness and balance of pale malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Clean bready malts, nice earthy hop balance, and restrained fruity yeast character. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Draft/Fest. A- Straw, grass, citrus, mild honey. A- Gold color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Tangerines, straw. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, boring finish. O- Okay, typical for the style. Approachable for a blonde without being completely boring.
