Nez vineux, couleur foncée, rubis, mousse crémeuse peu persistante, attaque de caractère, pas d’amertume, développement en bouche madérisé, porto, puissant, sensation de l’alcool avec une pointe d’acidité.
La petite histoire
Fruit d’une collaboration avec un ami belgo-italien connaissant très bien la région d’Alba. L’important pour un bon résultat de barriqu’âge est de recevoir et remplir le fût de bières aussitôt après la vidange de vin. Notre ami surveillait donc attentivement l’activité du vigneron de Barolo pour agir en conséquence.

Version 2020. Dark reddish brown colour, nose of red wine, wood, dried fruit. Vinous and Woody without being sour. Very well balanced. Great surprise!

7th International Pre Brugge Beer Festival Bottle Swap (in De Bierboom); Friday 1st Feb 2019. Fairly large sample from a bottle that was passed to me during the mega tasting. Brown/deep Amber body, wispy head. Sweet red berries and malty molasses in the aroma, not so sweet in the taste as the aging has calmed down the brew somewhat; still on the sweet side though. Thought there would be more woody/winey flavours to be honest; still enjoyed it!

Bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm, krachtig en zoet met iets van rozijnen, pruimen en cognac. Blijft erg lang hangen.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel licorice aroma. Fruity malty spicy caramel and licorice flavor. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel and licorice finish.

Bottle from Les Fleurs. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of syrupy malt. Flavour is sugared fruit, caramel and booze.

F: medium, tan, good retention. C: coppery to brown, hazy. A: malty, vinous, caramel, red fruits. T: malty, bit sour fruity, bit vinous, red fruits, caramel, bit too boozy, warming alcohol, not bad not great, full body, medium carbonation, sample draft shared with Germany and BE RB crew @ ZBF 2018.

Sample at ZBF 2018, thanks Belgian RB table. Cuivrée, col blanc-cassé. Arôme de malté pâle, caramel, note de fruits noirs en rétro et un effet de sucre résiduel arrivant en retrait. Pointe de fruité-vin revenant sur la fin en rétro-nasal. Plaisant, vineux reste modeste. Palais est malté, caramel, alcool perce bien avec une approche UK plus semblable à un jeune barley wine que une vieille brune; prune. Petite touche douce sur la fin, léger collant aux lèvres. retrouve un peu de barrique sans pour cela sembler tout à fait abouti.
