Got in a BIF from Roguer. 16 ounce can into signature teku glass, no can dating. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, papaya, guava, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, white grape, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/tropical/citrus/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, papaya, guava, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, white grape, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, papaya, guava, pineapple, mango, melon, berries, white grape, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/tropical/citrus/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance. Light lingering hop astringency near the end of the glass, but not overwhelming. Moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, bready/grainy, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mildly warming alcohol for 9.2%. Overall this is an incredible DIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/tropical/citrus/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink for the ABV; despite the increasingly bitter/drying finish. Extremely dank and fairly juicy on hops; with just enough malt for balance. Never sweet or heavy feeling for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

4 oz. draft at Sunset Grill and Tap. From notes: Strong citrus, tropical fruit, pine. Mild hay stacks.
Flavor has the tropical/citric right upfront with pine toward the backend. Mild pale grain and hay stacks. Light caramel. Balanced good bitterness that is not to aggressive. Has a light juice texture. Medium body and does show some alcohol. But at 9.3 % it is rather expected. Maybe the high alcohol changes the typical "Nelson" hop flavors but I still really enjoyed this.

Draught at the brewery, 6/4/16.
Golden body with some warm peach and beige tones. Light haziness with a small white head showing average retention.
Pine, wood, cherry, pineapple and white grapefruit mix to give a rather aggressive yet juice-tinted aroma. Light honey and bread crust behind it balamcing somewhat. Can’t really get past the pine and stewed hops but there is some redeeming juiciness. Light alcohol sharpness, as well.
Bitter, piney and with dry, rather sharp, pineapple and white grapefruit. Hard texture needs significantly more maltiness. Lots of stewed hop, resin, astringency, alcohol. Would never have guessed this was nelson hop and theyve really killed the subtleties. Some redeeming qualities but alot of issues. May be done with Beer’d.
