12 oz. can bought at Total Wine - Melbourne, FL. Pours a clear dark brown color with ruby highlights and a thick tight tan head and great retention. Excellent lacing. All peanut butter aroma. The taste is all peanut butter too with very little chocolate flavor. Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Heavy body. The 8.5% ABV is there, but pretty well hidden. Well balanced. Definitely the smoothest Imperial porter I've had. Dangerous dessert beer. Hard for me to believe, but the imperial version is actually better than the regular version.

Can: Black....with a small tan head. Strong, earthy peanut husk aroma. Taste is raw peanut and shell,, abit of chocolate and a substantial boozy note. A lot of bitterness from the shells and alcohol. And somehow....the body feels thin despite the intense tastes.... Needs a good dose of sweetness and richness...a little rough.

This beer pours a dark brown color with a medium frothy tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, peanut butter and chocolate. Medium body with flavors of roasted nuts, malt, chocolate and coffee. The finish is roasty with a peanut butter cup aftertaste. pretty good overall.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/29/2016. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, fudge, brown sugar, vanilla, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, peanut butter/chocolate, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, fudge, brown sugar, vanilla, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal hop and roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, fudge, brown sugar, vanilla, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, light coffee/herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, peanut butter/chocolate, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; a bit of lingering hop/roast astringency builds through the glass, but never overwhelming. Light dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly silky/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is great imperial porter! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, peanut butter/chocolate, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Other than the bit of lingering astringency, I have no complaints. Impressively rich malt complexity, with great PB/chocolate presence and balance. A very enjoyable offering.
