Decent stout. Some chocolate and roast, and well balanced. A little milk like Sean Penn. Black pour with decent head. Tap at beer festival.

Tap at Draught 55 finish out a flight. Fine dark brown pour. Nose is light earthy chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, earth, hint of roast not really any lactose. Not particularity sweet or tasty

12 oz. bottle. Nose is chocolate, weak roast, and mild lactose. Flavor is good amounts of chocolate in front of the sip with lactose sweetness on the backend. Body is on the lean side but does have a creamy texture. This nothing I would have to seek out again in a bottle. But considering the brewery, this was a bit better at that than I thought it would be.

Pitch black pour with a large beige head and very good retention. Spotty lacing. Taste is roasted malts and dark chocolate. Very thin mouthfeel for the style. Not sweet for a sweet stout either. Okay.

A nice black pour with chocolate milk colored head. A nice chocolate flavor doesn’t overpower the roasted maltiness of the beer. Well-balanced but after warming up has the sour thinness of milk stouts. Pretty good beer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 11/23/2016. Pours slightly hazy nearly opaque dark brown color with a 2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, light smoke/dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, lactose/cocoa, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, herbal, light smoke/char/nuttiness, and roast/toasted earthiness. Moderate roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, vanilla, cream, herbal, light smoke/char/nuttiness, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, lactose/cocoa, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/hop bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, fairly sticky/chalky, and slightly silky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is a very good chocolate milk stout. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, lactose/cocoa, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. This felt more like an American-style stout with the level of bitterness and roasted dryness; but you still get a lot of nice rich malt, lactose, and cocoa flavors as well. A very enjoyable offering.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a blackish brown color with a small foamy tan head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was lactic, dryish, malty and had a hint of chocolate. The flavor was lactic and a bit sour with roastiness and faint chocolate and vanilla. Long finish. Thin in body - especially for a stout. Not good.
