The White Tail Deer is a gentle creature. But the White Tail Unidragon? That’s a different story. Standing atop the Chief Leatherlips Monument of Dublin, Ohio, the beast reigns supreme among the wild. Its massive wings and fearsome antlers are lethal, but rarely used. Even animals know better than to challenge the White Tail Unidragon. This new take on the Unidragon series for 2019 replaces chocolate malts with black malt and roasted barley for more dark malt intensity. Aging in both Bourbon and Rye barrels leaves complex flavors from both liquors in the final product.

(Bottle) Black colour with brief, frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of oak wood, bourbon, black bread, butterscotch, dried figs, chocolate truffles and apricot marmalade. Malty, roasted, vinous taste with black bread, sweet liquorice, oak wood, bourbon, vanilla, dried figs, black coffee and a sweetish, vinous finish with a balanced cacao bitterness. Full body, sweet. Sweet, complex and powerful with lots of liquorice and bourbon. Very nice.

Another Clown Shoes production obtained sometime from The Cellar in Odessa, a bomber of course. I take the lid off and tilt into my Buffalo Bayou snifter which serves me well with imperial stouts. Not exactly pure black in color but close. And the head is fleeting, light tan. The aroma, nice in my estimation, lightly chocolate, toffee, hay, some sweetish coming through. But I am here to taste, duh, and I get a mix of subdued flavors, chocolate certainly, ribbon candy, grain and whiskey, nothing apparent of the 10.25%. Less in-your-face than previous CS imperial stouts but no complaints. Enjoying the bitterness at the end too.

Bomber from Cap Tap. Pours dark brn/blk with a foamy tan head. Aromas of chocolate, bourbon, and perhaps rye. Full bodied or very close. Flavor is earthy chocolate, discloses bourbon, a little rye spice is present, and the dark smooth malt is quite toasty. Tasted one, tasted them all - not in this case. Good level of whiskey makes this ale very tasty.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours an opaque, thick black with a small and creamy light brown head. Sweet roasty aroma with a tad vanilla. Rich body, the vanilla becomes more prominent, but I honestly don't get much Bourbon. Kinda harsh finish - booze? For a Bourbon barrelaged Imperial Stout, this is a bit of a let down - although not a bad beer completely. 090119

Flaska från SB. Tack Samuel214. Svart med krämbeiget lågt skum. Doftar av lakritsfudge, tjärpastill, lätt chark och skogiga toner, saltlakrits, choklad, espresso och kaffesump. Mellanstor till stor kropp, len och krämig. Ungefär samma i smaken som doften. Definitivt åt det kärvare hållet med mycket espresso, soja och tjärpastill. Viss hetta från bourbon och alkoholen. Fatlagringen ger även en liten skjuts i sötman en bit in i smaken. Annars är inte bourbonen supertydligt, utan är en ganska snäll fatlagring.
