Bottled in 2016. Purchased at 7 Eleven in Kittery Maine. Aroma and flavor are classic style barley wine. Raisins, dates, prune juice, with an earthy European maltt base. Earthy. Barrel is very mild. Aged just the way I like the Most!

Thanks Baeuxeu. 22oz bomber pours with a near clear dark amber body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up smooth inviting reduced sugars, a hit of marshmallow and then growing bourbon and booze notes. The taste delivers silky smooth sweet malts, molasses, prune nuanced caramel malts and then booze. The boozy bourbon and brown sugar blunted oak surface midway and take over somewhat into the finish. I like the balance as plenty of tasty beer notes can be enjoyed in step with the barrel treatment. Solid sipping experience.

Aroma is graham crackers, dark ripe fruit, wet grain. Flavor’s like nose, traditional, but has a lot more going on- lots of malty bittersweet. Great body and finish.

Bottle thanks to Brian! Pours hazy amber, small beige head, dissipates fairly quickly, bubbly lacing. Aroma is toffee, bourbon, vanilla, oak. Flavor is fully sweet, light bitter, rich malty and decadent. Full body, low carbonation. Kinda hot, but really tasty as a sipper.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky dark brown color with a huge soapy-creamy orange-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was toasted caramel, molasses, raisin, plum and bread crust. The flavor was sweet and boozy with notes of raisin, plum, molasses, caramel and bread crust. Long raisin, caramel and booze finish. Moderately full bodied. Quite nice.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 5/3/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy dark ruby red color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, leather, tobacco, raisin, plum, fig, apple, light chocolate/coconut/butterscotch, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, leather, tobacco, raisin, plum, fig, apple, light chocolate/coconut/butterscotch, herbal, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate tannic oak/bourbon spiciness and light herbal hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, brown bread, leather, tobacco, dark fruit, butterscotch, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness as well. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/slick, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a mild warmth lingering after the finish; with minimal booziness. Overall this is an awesome English barleywine. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, bourbon barrel, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Wow. Fucking smooth for a 12% beer. Almost like it's a nitro.
