*CRAFTED TO REDUCE GLUTEN* Mojito?? No, it is a beer that resembles a mojito. Lime and mint make this blonde an easy drinking summer ale, along with a special enzyme added that breaks down gluten to under 20ppm.

12 ounce bottle from Elmer’s Escanaba. Hazy golden with a thin fizzy white head that fades instantly. Aroma of, well, lime and mint. Some pale malt. The taste is mint forward with a limey finish. A bit of tart apple. Medium bodied. Solid.

Clear coloured body with blonde, gold and a bit of light bronze coming through at the bottom, all with a relatively large, three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of funky stale/fake mint, caster sugar, rum, grass, hay and a bit of odd malts - very interesting and funky throughout. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive fake mint and caster sugar flavours with a touch of grain, oak and tequilla and a dose of apples/pears. Aftertaste shows some alcohol along with the fake mint flavour which dominates. Overall, a very interesting beer and one that isn’t great, but hits close to the name/type of beer they tried to create. Not my favourite, but glad I tried it - and it really wasn’t the worst beer i’ve had in a while! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Binny’s in Downtown (Loop), Chicago, Illinois on 25-May-2016 for US$1,67 sampled at home in Washington on 05-September-2016 signalling the end of summer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 2/25/2016. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lightly tart lemon, lime, pear, apple, mint, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, lime/mint, and light fruity yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart lemon, lime, pear, apple, mint, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness and fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, pear, apple, mint, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt, lime/mint, and light fruity yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitter/tartness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, lightly grainy/bready, and acidic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very good fruited blonde ale style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt, lime/mint, and light fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
